The most recent PlayStation game to come to the PC is Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. The game was released on Steam last week, and while Sony has generally been successful in porting PlayStation titles to the platform, this particular collection appears to be an outlier. 10,851 fewer persons. That is far less than titles like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Even though Days Gone has released significantly more games than Uncharted to date, those two brands are much bigger for Sony. Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection’s lack of comparable interest on Steam is tough to pinpoint. says that it is also conceivable that the game’s age had an impact. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, which were released in 2016 and 2017, are included in the Legacy of Thieves compilation.
A remastered version was released on the PlayStation 5 earlier this year, but the age of these games may have made Steam users less interested in playing them. Timing may have played a role in other ways as well. Things would have been better if Sony had moved the Legacy of Thieves Collection closer to Uncharted’s theatrical release on Steam. Interest may have increased. Instead, it was released in October, well after the movie was fresh on audiences’ minds.
It seems unlikely that Sony’s plans to port future PlayStation titles to PC would be affected by the poor start, but this action opens up an even larger market for these kinds of games. Of course, some individuals achieve greater success than others.
