Many of the developers who worked on Fallout 3 shared their memories of working on the game and how Starfield Studios ultimately took over the Fallout series. In the video, Bethesda director Todd Howard explains how Fallout found a new developer and says it all started with a sticky note.
After explaining that Bethesda is eyeing an acquisition of the Fallout franchise, Howard said, “Was the original world always talking to us about making Fallout? No one has been doing that for a long time. No – is there a way?”
Howard then went on to explain how he and the team discovered that Fallout got the go-ahead for his game. He was written “Fallout is yours.” That’s all. i will never forget it. ”
That was clearly the exact message Howard wanted, and he went on to say: I heard there is a possibility. you know it was great. We were very, very excited. ”
Bethesda took over the Fallout series with Fallout 3. Previously, the game was developed by Interplay Entertainment and created by Tim Cain. Tim Cain also speaks in the video. Cain explains that handing over Fallout to Bethesda “felt like my baby was adopted by another family.” He continued, “It wasn’t so much that I hated my family because my baby ended up being raised in a different way than I raised this baby.”
