The next-generation HomePod from Apple will be available “fairly soon,” according to well-connected Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.
The original HomePod was discontinued by Apple in March 2021, reportedly due to poor sales, but the high-quality smart speaker still has many fans, and there have long been rumours about the return of a new full-size HomePod.
Gurman previously stated that the new HomePod will not be “revolutionary,” but it will have a lower price, an updated touch control panel on top, and the S8 chip from the latest Apple Watch models.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also stated that Apple is working on an updated version of the HomePod, which could be released in the first quarter of 2023.

Gurman’s latest remarks come after he confirmed rumours that Apple will unveil two new products on Tuesday. Recent rumours, combined with information discovered in a Canadian regulatory database, indicate that Apple may unveil next-generation 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models, but nothing has been confirmed.
