Amazing Apple Design choice confirmed by New iPhone 15 Exclusive

  • Several details about the iPhone 15 series are already known to us, including a new standard model design, larger cameras, ballistic performance, and the demise of Lightning. But, they could now set records as well. The iPhone 15 Pro Max will have the thinnest “bezel black edge” (also known as the black edge between the display and the chassis) of any smartphone, according to a recent tweet from renowned industry insider Ice Universe.

According to the source, they would measure barely 1.55mm, shattering the previous record held by the Xiaomi 13. (1.81mm). Also, they have bezels that are roughly 20% and 30% narrower than those of the Galaxy S23 and iPhone 14 Pro, respectively. Although the small numerals in this case, the bezel’s size is always apparent due to the continuity break that its black edge causes. Following is a scale rendering that @Hanstsaiz produced for me to show how the new bezel would appear:

A thinner bezel is more immersive and makes it possible to either put a larger screen into the same-sized chassis or create a more portable gadget with the same screen size as its forerunner. According to newly released measurements for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro, Apple chose the latter with significantly more portable devices.

The only catch to this fantastic news is that Ice Universe has previously leaked CADs for the iPhone 15 Pro that conflict with earlier reports. Interestingly, CADs from Ice Universe depict a flatter rear camera while other models depict Apple’s largest rear camera to date, even if the overall dimensions match.

The screen is curved around the display, therefore regular glass used on the iPhone 15 screen will have a white edge. “The screens in the 12/13/14 series are flat with 2Dradians around the edges. But the screen of the iPhone 15 will change. Screen protectors will need to be modified because the device’s screen edge radian will change to 2.5D. The leaker also gave me a video of the new iPhone 15 Pro Max display, which you can watch below but which he hasn’t released on social media.

Still, the overall storyline in this is fascinating. Apple was criticized for the iPhone’s huge bezels for many years; in particular, the iPhone 6, 6S, 7 and 8, and the range may set a record. All of this demonstrates the proverbial truism that good things come to those who wait, which describes Apple’s strategy for features and products.
