Apple’s decision to offer iris scanning technology seems to be raising the bar in the battle for mixed reality. The tech giant will put a sensor in its next XR gadget that, will function similarly to Face ID on iPhones and iPads.

Users will be able to access their accounts and make biometric payments thanks to this. the headset has more than 10 of his cameras, including the newest in his MacBook. It has been rumored that it might contain the same M2 chip as the Air.
The news comes after Meta unveiled his high-end VR headset, the Quest Pro, at his Meta Connect 2022 earlier this week. His $1,500 retail Quest Pro is marketed to businesses as a hybrid work and virtual collaboration solution. Mashable says it features advanced eye-tracking and full-color pass-through technology for a realistic virtual experience, allowing users to layer virtual features onto real-world settings.
However, the Quest Pro doesn’t offer the iris scanning technology Apple popularized in its devices. Apple’s XR headset has been highly anticipated for years and is set to launch in 2023. But all of these innovations don’t come cheap, with rumors of them costing between $2,000 and $3,000, making this much more than the Quest Pro, the highest-end version of Meta’s VR headset line to date.
