- ATU Trustees recently toured the Arkansas Tech Career Center to learn about its academic programs and impact on high school students’ preparedness for the workforce and further education.
- ATCC offers programs in heating, ventilation and air conditioning, welding, automotive service technology, and construction technology. In the 2022-23 academic year, ATCC ranked second in the state for certificates of proficiency earned and college credit hours earned.
- ATCC serves over 800 high school students and focuses on preparing a well-prepared workforce for high skill, high demand jobs in the Arkansas River Valley Region.

On Tuesday, the Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees visited the Arkansas Tech Career Center to learn more about the Automotive Service Technology program. The tour provided the board members with an in-depth look at the hands-on learning opportunities available to students in the program.
The Automotive Service Technology program at Arkansas Tech Career Center offers students the chance to gain real-world experience in a field with a high demand for skilled workers. During the tour, the board of trustees had the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art equipment and facilities that students use to develop the skills necessary for a successful career in automotive service.
“Getting to see firsthand the impressive resources and opportunities available to students in the Automotive Service Technology program was truly eye-opening,” said one board member. “It’s clear that Arkansas Tech Career Center is providing students with the tools and knowledge they need to thrive in this industry.”
The board of trustees also had the chance to speak with faculty and students in the program, gaining valuable insight into the curriculum and learning environment. “It was great to hear from both the instructors and the students about their experiences in the program,” said another board member. “Their passion for what they’re learning and the excitement for their future careers was truly inspiring.”
Overall, the tour left the board of trustees impressed and optimistic about the future of the Automotive Service Technology program at Arkansas Tech Career Center. “We are committed to providing our students with the best possible education and opportunities for success,” said a representative from Arkansas Tech University. “The Automotive Service Technology program is just one example of the high-quality, hands-on learning experiences we strive to offer at Arkansas Tech.”
