Redwood City, CA – The Holiday Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting underserved communities, has awarded a grant to Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School to launch a hands-on gaming technology program for its students.

The grant will enable the school to purchase state-of-the-art gaming technology equipment and provide training for its teachers to facilitate the program. The program aims to empower underserved students with the skills and knowledge needed to pursue careers in the rapidly growing field of gaming technology.

“We are thrilled to receive this grant from The Holiday Fund, which will make it possible for us to offer our students an innovative and valuable educational experience,” said Principal Maria Rodriguez. “Through this program, our students will have the opportunity to develop skills in coding, game design, and technology that could open doors to exciting career opportunities in the future.”

The hands-on gaming technology program will provide students with the opportunity to work collaboratively on game development projects, learning about concepts such as programming, graphic design, and user experience. The program will also incorporate elements of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) to provide a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.

“We are committed to supporting initiatives that empower underserved students and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in the 21st century,” said Sara Johnson, Director of The Holiday Fund. “We are excited to partner with Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School to bring this gaming technology program to life and to help students explore potential career paths in the growing tech industry.”

The Holiday Fund grant will not only provide funding for the purchase of equipment and training for teachers, but it will also support ongoing maintenance and updates to ensure that the program remains cutting-edge and relevant for the students.

The hands-on gaming technology program is scheduled to launch at Cesar Chavez Ravenswood Middle School in the upcoming school year, and the faculty and staff are eagerly preparing for its implementation.
