There’s plenty of other content crammed into this roadmap for Warzone 2.0 and ‘Ground War’ players, but new standard multiplayer content is scarce – and players are complaining:
Fan angst stems from the fact that there haven’t been any brand-new 6v6 multiplayer maps for Modern Warfare 2 yet, and this trend is expected to continue into Season 2. The first season of the game included two remakes, ‘Shipment’ and ‘Shoothouse,’ while the second season includes another remake, ‘Dome,’ as well as a return beta map, ‘Valderas Museum.’
It’s important to remember that Warzone 2.0 is a free-to-play game, and MW2’s $70 price tag is likely to add to growing fan angst over the lack of meaningful post-launch content for multiplayer users.
While we believe the reaction is exaggerated — good map remakes are always welcome, and there are still new weapons and so on — we must agree that the full-priced game should be given as much attention as Warzone 2.0.
As the game progresses in 2023, the multiplayer content pipeline should pick up.
