Ahmedabad, India – Love scams have become a growing concern for marriage seekers in Ahmedabad, as cybercrooks are exploiting technology to deceive vulnerable individuals seeking love and companionship.

According to the Ahmedabad Police Department, these scams start with a simple message or email from an attractive person claiming to be a potential love interest. The conversations quickly become romantic, and the fraudsters gradually gain their target’s trust and affection.

Once the scammers establish a relationship, they start to ask for money, often under the guise of an emergency situation. And unfortunately, many of the victims fall prey to these love scams, losing thousands of rupees.

The modus operandi of these cybercrooks is sophisticated and complex, using fake identities, fabricated stories, and even stolen photos to create emotional connections with their targets. These scams have become so prevalent that the Ahmedabad Police Department has issued an advisory to the public to be cautious and vigilant about such fraudsters.

“These fraudsters are very cunning and manipulative. They use various tactics to extract money from their victims. We are taking strict action against them, and we urge the public to report any suspicious activity or scam attempts to the police,” said a senior police official from the department.

The police advise individuals to use caution when communicating with strangers online, to never share personal information or photographs without verifying their authenticity, and to be wary of any requests for money.

In the age of modern technology, it has become easier for cybercrooks to exploit the vulnerabilities of others. As such, it is essential for individuals to exercise caution and stay vigilant against the rising menace of love scams.
