  1. A college student named Jack Sweeney, known for tracking Elon Musk’s private jet on Twitter, has moved to Meta’s competing platform Threads. Sweeney gained attention when Musk offered him $5,000 to stop posting the jet’s location, and Sweeney requested $50,000 instead. Musk bought Twitter and permanently suspended Sweeney’s ElonJet account, claiming it posed a security threat. Now, Sweeney has a Threads account with 80,000 followers, and Meta had 70 million sign-ups for Threads in under 48 hours.
  2. Sweeney’s move to Meta’s Threads platform comes after his original Twitter account, ElonJet, was permanently suspended by Musk. Undeterred, Sweeney created a new account on Threads called “elonmusksjet.” The platform has already gained 70 million sign-ups in less than 48 hours since its launch.
  3. Despite the suspension of his original Twitter account, Sweeney has continued to share the location of Musk’s jet using a 24-hour delay through a different account named ElonJetNextDay. Sweeney’s new Threads account has attracted 80,000 followers, surpassing his previous following. He also maintains a personal account, using it to announce the move of ElonJets to the Threads platform.

In an unexpected move, Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, has announced a significant shift in his jet-tracking account’s platform. Musk revealed on Monday that he will no longer be using standard aviation tracking websites but will instead rely on an alternative platform called Twitter Threads.

Known for his innovative ideas and constant technological advancements, Musk shared his decision with his millions of followers on Twitter, mentioning the need for better tracking capabilities. “After careful evaluation, I have decided to transition my jet-tracking account to Twitter Threads,” he tweeted. “The traditional platforms fall short in terms of real-time updates and user engagement, and it’s time to explore new horizons.”

Musk’s jet-tracking account has been a popular source of information for aviation enthusiasts, providing live updates on his private plane’s whereabouts and journeys. However, the entrepreneur has expressed dissatisfaction with the existing tracking platforms, which often suffer from delays and lack interactive features. The shift to Twitter Threads aims to address these limitations and offer a more interactive and engaging experience for Musk himself and his followers.

Threads, a feature on Twitter that allows users to link related tweets together, has gained popularity in recent years. It enables individuals to create a mini-blog of sorts, sharing information in a comprehensive and organized manner. Musk believes this format will be ideal for tracking his jet’s movements, offering real-time updates and allowing for direct communication with his followers.

This move comes as no surprise to those familiar with Musk’s unorthodox methods and ventures. He has previously utilized Twitter as a tool for announcing important information and engaging with the public. The interactive nature of Twitter, combined with Threads’ ability to link tweets together, could potentially create an immersive tracking experience for aviation enthusiasts and Musk’s followers alike.

While specific details about the transition process and the exact functionalities of the new jet-tracking account on Twitter Threads have yet to be revealed, Musk has assured his followers that the switch will happen in the coming weeks. With his reputation for pushing the boundaries of technology and his knack for surprising announcements, many are eagerly awaiting this latest development.

As Musk ventures into this new realm of tracking his jet’s movements, the aviation community and his followers eagerly anticipate the enhanced level of engagement and real-time updates that Twitter Threads could bring. Only time will tell how successful this transition will be, but with Musk at the forefront, expectations remain high for a thrilling and groundbreaking experience in the world of jet tracking.
