Meanwhile, Takai-san revealed that Final Fantasy XVI will include a leaderboard where players can compete against others from all over the world.
Yoshida-san revealed that he originally planned for the base game to take 20 hours to complete, but as development progressed, more content was added to the game. As it stands, the development team anticipates that players will need approximately 35 hours to complete the main story without any additional content.
Previously, the development team stated that Final Fantasy XVI is not powered by the Luminous Engine or the Unreal Engine, but did not specify which technology it is using. Meanwhile, Yoshida-san revealed that the RPG will feature 11 hours of cinematic cutscenes.
Final Fantasy XVI will be released on June 22, 2023.
