From Entry-Level Programmer to Tech Entrepreneur: A Success Story

  • Simon Hamilton, a junior at Latta High School, learned about hardware and software components in seventh grade and completed eight certifications by the time he graduates high school. His love for solving problems led him to create an innovation plan to solve a formatting problem with computer hard drives, discovering NTFS formatting can store much more data than FAT32. He founded Hamilton Software Solutions, which specializes in software development and IT consulting services.
  • Simon Hamilton grew up in a household where technology was a way of life. His father was a software developer for the Chickasaw Nation. Simon’s passion for technology led him to take classes at the Pontotoc Technology Center, where he quickly went through the materials and completed eight different certifications by the time he graduates high school.
  • Simon’s DECA project was creating a software program that would convert a hard drive from FAT 32 to NTFS without losing data, allowing businesses and individuals to store more data on their hard drives without having to purchase additional hardware. His project was a success, and he won first place at the state DECA convention. It inspired him to start his own tech company named Hamilton Software Solutions.

A former junior programmer has successfully transitioned into becoming a tech entrepreneur, marking a significant milestone in their career.

After gaining several years of experience as a junior programmer, the individual decided to take a leap of faith and start their own technology company.
