Mysten Labs (“Mysten” or the “Company”), a provider of web3 infrastructure and the creator of the Sui Layer 1 blockchain, announced today that it has partnered with NCSOFT, one of the world’s leading gaming developers and publishers. In accordance with the terms of the agreement, NCSOFT contributed $15 million to Mysten as part of the $300 million Series B fundraising round that gave the company a $2 billion valuation. Former Meta’s Novi Research executives and the chief creators of the Diem blockchain and Move programming language founded Mysten in 2021. Sui, the first product released by the company, is a decentralized proof-of-stake blockchain that builds on significant advancements in consensus algorithms and makes use of unique data structures to produce a high-performance, low-cost Layer 1.
