Fallout 4 will receive a free “next-gen upgrade” in 2023, as the first Fallout celebrates its 25th anniversary in style.
The update will add “high framerate performance mode features, quality features for 4K resolution games, bug fixes, and even bonus Creation Club material,” according to unconfirmed details. It will also be made available for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X-S gaming consoles.
Even though some of his Fallout fans may be disappointed that Bethesda is not working on Fallout 5 instead of updating his slightly new technology from Fallout 4, think positively. please. More seriously, this improvement will be significant if you have not played Fallout 4 yet. Considering that it is seven years old, that may be a huge number of people.
One thing Fallout fans are interested in is whether (or likely how) this update will affect mods in Fallout 4. We have reached out to Bethesda to confirm their willingness to share insights along these lines. I will update when I get an answer.
Bethesda said today’s announcement wraps up Fallout’s anniversary celebrations, so I’m assuming it means there won’t be any surprise announcements for new Fallout games from Obsidian, which is a shame…but Fallout 76 and Fallout There’s still time to claim other giveaways on the Epic Games Store, including 3 Free (opens in new tab) rewards and bundles.
