Recall of children’s headphones due to the risk of battery rupture

According to the CPSC, Vinnic brand AAA alkaline batteries contained in covered hearing protection can explode and cause hearing, projectiles, or burns. The headphones were sold at Sam’s Club, Kroger and other stores nationwide from January 2018 to December 2021. It can also be purchased online at samsclub.com and kroger.com. The following models are subject to the recall. 

Some HearMuffs kids headphones have been recalled because the batteries they come with can explode. The American Consumer Product Safety Commission, in partnership with Hearing Lab Technology/Lucid Audio, is recalling his four models of powered hearing aids. The recall is limited to select active hearing aids containing two AAA alkaline batteries.

The model was sold in multiple colors and featured a multimode power switch to toggle between off, active, or sedative modes. Any consumer using these headphones is asked to stop using HearMuffs and contact the company so he can get two free replacement batteries. There were 19 reports of battery explosions, but no one was injured.
