Relativity expands partnership with CPS to create career paths for law and technology students

  • The early childhood college and career programs will be offered at Corliss STEM High School thanks to an expanded agreement by Relativity and Chicago Public Schools (CPS), a global provider of legal and compliance solutions. Relativity has partnered with CPS for more than ten years, and this year the company is concentrating on developing Corliss STEM programming.

In addition to a monetary contribution, our connection with Corliss STEM High School also involves a dedication to early career development. In the coming years, Corliss and Relativity will collaborate to increase the number of early college credits Corliss students earn by the time they graduate. Other projects include sponsoring an interactive STEM day for freshmen and sophomores, giving Corliss students summer learning opportunities to learn more about law, and promoting technology careers.

Relativity gave $75,000 to CPS’s Legal Pathways Career and Technical Education Program and $175,000 to Corliss all in one year. To further pave the way for individual and societal success, the Corliss-CPS cooperation keeps its attention on the far southside of the City, close to Chicago State University, another Relativity partner.

Megan Hougard, CPS Chief of College & Professional Success, noted that partnerships that advance career pathways give high school students essential chances to earn college credit and participate in internships, apprenticeships, and other practical learning experiences. “Saying that this is the future of education is not being overstated.”

Early College STEM programs use relationships with other organizations to train students for future technological careers. Early college STEM programming enhances possibilities for internship experience, gives students access to industry knowledge while completing a 21st century STEM curriculum, and earns college credit toward an associate’s degree.

Given the school’s reputation of innovation and dedication to community results, Relativity chose Corliss STEM High School to strengthen its engagement with CPS. The 2012 CPS Early College STEM Schools (ECSS) effort was started to connect K–12, higher education, and the business sector with students interested in filling high-demand job openings in STEM/STEAM fields in Chicago. Corliss was one of the five founding partners of the initiative.

“We hope that our collaboration with Corliss STEM High School will foster ongoing discussion about the history of invention and the region of Pullman’s contributions to society at large. We are overjoyed to be carrying out our purpose to serve as the community’s connector and eagerly anticipate the new heights Corliss alumni can achieve.

The 13th Annual Relativity Fest, an occasion for the eDiscovery and compliance community, will be attended by Corliss students and will be held in Chicago from October 26–28, 2022. This brings students who are interested in the nexus between law and technology to subject matter experts and judges from around the globe.
