- Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav accuses BJP-led NDA government of misusing technology in a show of brute force against protesting farmers and also charges the BJP with misusing electoral bonds, linking it to corruption.
- Akhilesh Yadav emphasizes the justified demands of the farmers, particularly their call for a law to back Minimum Support Price (MSP) due to the significant decrease in farmers’ income and profit margins.
- Akhilesh Yadav points out the impact of the Supreme Court’s decision on electoral bonds on the ongoing farmer’s agitation, stating that it has added power to the protests and will prevent the BJP from receiving heavy donations from influential individuals seeking to influence agricultural policies.
The Samajwadi Party has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government of misusing technology against farmers in a recent statement. The party has claimed that the government is using technological tools to suppress and intimidate farmers who are protesting against the new agricultural laws.
The Samajwadi Party alleged that the government is using surveillance technology to monitor and track the movements of farmers, as well as using social media platforms to spread disinformation and propaganda against the protesting farmers.
“The BJP government is misusing technology to target and harass the farmers who are peacefully protesting against the contentious farm laws. This is a clear violation of their fundamental rights and a gross misuse of power,” said a spokesperson for the Samajwadi Party.
The party also criticized the government for its heavy-handed approach towards the farmers’ protest, stating that instead of engaging in dialogue and addressing the concerns of the farmers, the government is resorting to tactics of intimidation and suppression.
The allegations come at a time when the farmers’ protest has been ongoing for several months, with no resolution in sight. The farmers have been demanding the repeal of the new agricultural laws, which they believe will lead to the exploitation of small-scale farmers by large corporations.
The BJP government has not yet responded to the accusations made by the Samajwadi Party. However, the allegations have further heightened tensions between the government and the farmers, adding another layer of complexity to an already contentious issue.
