Samsung and LG are gearing up for a Washer-Dryer Showdown in the Korean market, with Samsung Electronics launching the Bespoke AI Combo washer-dryer targeting households without dryers. Priced at 3.9 million won, the device aims to capture 70% of households without dryers, showcasing advanced technology. A briefing by Samsung Electronics Executive Vice President Lee Moo-hyung highlighted the device’s features and market strategy.

The Bespoke AI Combo underwent a three-year development period focusing on creating a drying function comparable to stand-alone machines. The utilization of heat pump technology not only prevents damage to clothes but also saves energy, making it an efficient choice for households. Additionally, the device features a 7-inch screen with Samsung’s Tizen operating system for seamless connectivity with other Samsung products, enhancing user experience.

Despite the Bespoke AI Combo’s success in the market, selling over 3,000 units since its February launch, Samsung faces stiff competition from LG Electronics. LG recently introduced its Signature Washer & Dryer combo, offering similar features and pricing, challenging Samsung’s dominance in the washer-dryer segment. Both companies are gearing up for an intense showdown to capture a larger market share and cater to the evolving needs of consumers in Korea.
