Bengaluru, India – Techies working in the sprawling tech parks of the city have finally found relief in their daily commute. The government has announced the launch of an innovative transportation service that will make it simpler for the employees of these tech parks to reach the nearest metro station.
Starting today, techies can avail of the new shuttle service from tech parks located along the Outer Ring Road (ORR) to the nearest metro stations. The shuttle service named ‘Metro Feeder Services’ will operate at fixed intervals daily, enabling techies to reach metro stations easily, in a hassle-free manner.
The initiative is part of Bengaluru’s Smart City mission to ease traffic congestion and promote a greener mode of transportation. The new shuttle service is expected to cut down on the number of private vehicles on the already congested ORR stretch, reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality.
The Metro Feeder Services will cover tech parks in areas such as Bellandur, Marathahalli, Electronic City and many others. Employees can avail the shuttle service by producing their employee ID cards and pay a nominal fare. The buses are air-conditioned and equipped with GPS, and the timings of the shuttle services are synchronized with the metro timings.
This new service is a boon for techies who often face long and tedious commutes due to their office locations and heavy traffic on the ORR. It is expected to improve the work-life balance for many techies, who will now have more time to spend with their families and engage in leisure activities.
The launch of ‘Metro Feeder Services’ has been received with enthusiasm by many techies, who are glad that the government has finally taken steps to make their commute simpler. This move is expected to motivate more people to use public transportation and contribute towards making Bengaluru a smarter and more sustainable city to live in.
