ATU STEM Students Showcase Research at State Capitol

Russellville, AR – Students from Arkansas Tech University’s (ATU) Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program showcased their cutting-edge research at the Arkansas State Capitol on Monday.

The event, which was organized by the ATU STEM Center, provided an opportunity for students to exhibit their innovative projects to state lawmakers and officials. The research topics included advancements in renewable energy, environmental conservation, cybersecurity, and biotechnology.

“We are incredibly proud of our STEM students and the important work they are doing,” said Dr. Emily Roberts, director of the ATU STEM Center. “This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to highlight their research and demonstrate the impact they are making in their respective fields.”

In addition to showcasing their research, students also had the opportunity to engage in dialogue with legislators and other state leaders about the importance of STEM education and the significant contributions that ATU students are making to the state’s economy and workforce.

“ATU is dedicated to providing our students with a hands-on, experiential learning environment that prepares them for successful careers in STEM fields,” said Dr. Kyle Owen, interim dean of the ATU College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. “The opportunity for our students to present their research at the State Capitol is a testament to the exceptional education and training they are receiving at ATU.”
