Tampa, FL – MAS Global Consulting, a leading consulting firm, is taking a significant step towards promoting diversity and inclusivity in the local tech industry. The company has launched a new initiative, Tofido, aimed at recruiting more women and Latinos into the technology sector.
According to a report by the Tampa Bay Tech, women and Latinos are significantly underrepresented in the local tech industry, making up only a small fraction of the workforce. MAS Global Consulting hopes to change this by actively seeking out and recruiting women and Latino tech professionals.
“We believe that diversity is not only the right thing to do, but it also leads to better business outcomes,” said Sandra Martinez, CEO of MAS Global Consulting. “Our Tofido initiative is a commitment to creating opportunities for underrepresented groups in the tech industry and fostering a more inclusive and diverse workplace.”
Tofido, which stands for “Tech Opportunities for Inclusivity and Diversity Outreach,” aims to provide resources, mentorship, and support for women and Latinos looking to enter or advance in the tech field. The initiative will also work with local schools and organizations to encourage young women and Latinos to pursue careers in technology.
The move by MAS Global Consulting comes at a time when the tech industry is facing increased scrutiny over its lack of diversity and the underrepresentation of women and minority groups. The company hopes that Tofido will serve as a model for other businesses in the Tampa area to prioritize diversity and inclusivity in their recruiting efforts.
“We’re excited to lead the charge in making the Tampa tech industry more diverse and inclusive,” Martinez added. “By working together, we can create a more equitable and representative workforce that will benefit our community and our economy as a whole.”
It remains to be seen what impact Tofido will have on the local tech industry, but MAS Global Consulting is optimistic that their efforts will create a more diverse and inclusive workforce in Tampa.
