Splatoon 3 players have been taking part in a three-way celebration inspired by Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for the previous two days. Users of the Nintendo Switch were required to select the fire, water, and grass types, then rule them in head-to-head competition. Team Water triumphed tonight, with an impeccable score of 45p! Quaxley supporters should be pleased with the outcome, but supporters of Sprigateet and Huecoco will have to accept their defeat.
The Scarlet and Purple Contest was his second official Splatfest for Splatoon 3. It was also the second Splatfest centered around the Pokémon franchise! In 2016, the original Splatoon for Wii U had a contest where players had to choose between Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue to mark the franchise’s 20th anniversary. A similar tournament was held in Japan, but Pokémon Red faced Pokémon Green instead. Given the global popularity of both franchises, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before we see another crossover between them!
In a few days, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will be available on the Nintendo Switch. Lechonku, Gimmiguru, and Wigglet are just a few of the new Pokémon that The Pokémon Company has released in addition to the three that were unveiled at this weekend’s Splatfest. There has always been much anticipation for it in the interim, and this latest release appears to be no exception. On ComicBook.com, a thorough review of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is forthcoming.
