Of course, this counter isn’t just for bragging rights. If you’re the creator or manager of a company Twitter account, a tally can show whether followers find your posts helpful. In turn, this can help you refine your content to reach a broader audience.

Twitter emphasizes that bookmarks are always private. Users can see if their tweets are popular, but they won’t know exactly who flagged a certain post.

The addition comes after several updates from Twitter, such as warnings about community misinformation notes. However, the service has recently been dominated by concerns about a series of outages and charges for text-based two-factor authentication. While the bookmark counter is useful, it won’t get as much attention as it used to.
