Braselton police are looking for two suspects who used stolen credit cards to purchase thousands of dollars worth of Pokemon cards and other merchandise from businesses.
His two unidentified men were arrested by surveillance around noon when he entered his Davis Street store in the Inner Nerd.
“You look around. Finally, they go to our games page. They’re interested in card games and such,” said Steve Reyna, the business owner. The Braselton store opened in January. The retail space has everything from sports memorabilia to comics to exclusive trading cards.
the men told the store clerk that they were merchants and wanted to buy several boxes of Pokémon cards and other merchandise.
The suspect selected cards and other items worth approximately $5,000 and paid for the stolen credits on his card.
“They said they had a store and sold card games and stuff like that,” Reina said. I was led to believe I was opening, opening card packs, shooting. It’s a pretty big community doing it on social media. ”
the seller received a warning call about 30 minutes later.
She said, “I got a call from an associate about the transaction itself. The cardholder called the store and asked if they made this transaction.
Of course we told them we did.” And she told us that unfortunately it was her card,” Reina said. Reina retrieved the video from the security camera and called the police. He said his insurance wouldn’t cover the loss, so he was left without money and things.
“We just want this to get the public’s attention, so that we can get the attention of other companies, especially if they target us. Because it could be,” Reina said. Anyone who can recognize the man in the surveillance video can contact the Braselton Police Department.
