  • Sawyer, who was the project lead and lead designer on Fallout: New Vegas, was asked if he’s considering working on another installment in the Fallout franchise.

Sawyer described his experience creating Fallout: New Vegas as “extremely fulfilling” and “extremely fantastic”, stating that he may return to the series if given the chance. “I love his Fallout, I love the setting. I could see myself working on it again, but I see where the future takes me.”

Sawyer was also asked about his dream setting for the Fallout game. He admits he hadn’t thought about it for a while, but thinks a game set in California or the Midwest would be “very interesting.” It also emphasizes the importance of finding the right settings. “If it’s part of a larger IP, it needs to be within the larger vision of ‘what is Fallout?’ work,” Sawyer explains.

While a Fallout game with a US setting has a lot of potential, Sawyer also likes the notion of setting it elsewhere in the world. There are many exciting opportunities, but they actually depend on the situation and the composition of the team, he claims.
