the white RTX 4090 from AX-Game

  • AX-Gaming, a Chinese company, has revealed how it will interpret the NVIDIA RTX 4090 chip: in white. The AX-Gaming RTX 4090 X3W has the same AD102 chip as our top graphics card and is geared for gamers who are interested in a little bit more (or a little less) contrast in their setups. This is even displayed on its backplate with a blue, stylised “Ada 1.”

In terms of the brand’s design choice, the AX-Gaming RTX 4090 X3W is not all that novel: The bulk of the graphics cards produced by AX-Gaming are white, which make up the company’s product line. When Nvidia released its RTX 20-series cards (which offered raytracing at significant performance costs), the business began developing cards. For the RTX 30-series, the company released up to 15 different designs.

Although the cooler is primarily white, there are some other colors to break up the whiteness. These are blue and low-contrast brushed aluminum, and you can mostly see them on the card’s faceplate. The three 90 mm fans that circulate air are divided geometrically, according to the “Punk Max” design by AX-Gaming. The nine 6mm copper heatpipes that remove heat from the AD102 calculations are cooled by the fans, which ensure airflow through the cooler’s fin array.

AX-emblem Gaming’s is painted on the central fan, while a stylized “ABXY” logo is painted on the outermost fans. Each of the fans also has painted elements on its core. It is perhaps fortunate that when the card is put through its paces, the logos itself will resemble a spinning disc.

The AX-Gaming RTX 4090 X3W has already been obtained by a Chinese media site, and it was found that the core clock is set at 2550 MHz, which is 30 MHz faster than Nvidia’s own reference design (2520 MHz). Performance data from the source demonstrates that it is functioning as an RTX 4090 should.

The majority of the backplate is white, with cutaway patterns that let more air flow through. Here we observe the subtle detailing of the “Ada 1” logo, the “RTX 4090” identifier, and the corporate logo. A white metal grill and “RTX 4090” in the same brushed aluminum hue are added to the edge of the card that holds the 16-pin power connector, and the company’s emblem has an LED lighting system.
