Van Oord finishes cable installation for Iberdrola’s offshore wind farm project

The project involved the installation of over 40 kilometers of subsea cable, connecting the wind farm’s turbines to the German grid. Van Oord utilized its state-of-the-art cable-laying vessel, the Nexus, to complete the installation within the stipulated time frame and with exceptional precision.

This significant milestone marks a major step forward in the development of the Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm, which is expected to have a total capacity of 476 megawatts. Once operational, the wind farm will provide clean and sustainable energy to thousands of households in the region.
