In a jam-packed week for Virginia Tech athletics, the football team hosted top priority recruits on campus, the softball team saw several of its players named to the Preseason All-ACC Team, and star basketball player Elizabeth Kitley was named as a top 10 candidate for the prestigious Lisa Leslie Award.

The Virginia Tech football program welcomed an impressive group of high school recruits to campus as they continue to build for the future. Head coach Brent Pry and his staff pulled out all the stops to impress their top targets, showcasing the campus, facilities, and program to the visiting prospects. With the 2023 recruiting class in focus, the Hokies are hoping to secure commitments from these priority recruits in the coming months.

On the softball diamond, several Hokies were recognized for their talents as a total of three players were named to the Preseason All-ACC Team. Pitcher Keely Rochard, infielder Jayme Bailey, and outfielder Kelsey Bennett received the honors, further solidifying the talent and potential of the Virginia Tech softball team heading into the upcoming season. With these standout players leading the way, the Hokies are poised to make a strong run in the ACC this year.

In the basketball world, star forward Elizabeth Kitley continues to make waves as a top talent in the game. The junior has been named as one of the top 10 candidates for the Lisa Leslie Award, which recognizes the top center in women’s college basketball. Kitley has been a dominant force for the Hokies, and this recognition further cements her status as a player to watch as she looks to lead Virginia Tech to success on the hardwood.
