Technology and Ranching Roundtable Discussion in Kimball, Neb.
The Nebraska Extension will be hosting a roundtable discussion on technology and ranching on April 16 in Kimball. This event aims to bring together area producers and researchers to explore the various technologies available for ranching operations and how they can be effectively utilized.
Producers are increasingly incorporating technology into their traditional ranching practices. However, it is essential for them to consider the cost of these technologies and whether they truly add value to their operations. Aaron Berger, a Nebraska Extension educator, emphasizes the importance of balancing what’s possible with what’s realistic when it comes to adopting new technologies.
The roundtable discussion will cover a range of topics related to technology in ranching, including drones for pasture and cattle management, remote water monitoring systems and cameras, calming pheromone treatment for cattle, and virtual fencing technology.
The roundtable program will take place on Thursday, April 16, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Kimball. Attendance is free, and no registration is required for this event.
