Often referred to as the “Father of Sensors” and “The Trillion Sensor Man,” Janusz is a well-known pioneer in the development of micromechanical integrated systems technology and a force behind innovation that transforms how technology is used to better, has radically changed, people’s lives all over the world.

But when considered in the context of his modest beginnings, Janusz’s numerous accomplishments are even more amazing. He left Poland, which was under Soviet rule at the time, in the 1970s. His personal beliefs were influenced by the conflict between authoritarianism and individual liberty in Poland. His career in the semiconductor sector began when he immigrated to the US with a family of four and only $300 in his pocket. Never forgetting his roots, he helped create an entire industry and numerous prosperous businesses there.
He has also written chapters for four books, organized and chaired numerous international conferences, and published over 250 articles. He is the creator of 30 US patents, as well as several patent applications, and has spearheaded numerous efforts to standardize sensors.
