Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
This is, unsurprisingly, the foldable successor to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. It looks very similar to last year’s model, but it includes a number of upgrades. With a 7.6-inch foldable inner screen with 2176 x 1812 resolution and a 6.2-inch outer display with 2316 x 904 resolution, it’s the same size and resolution as the Galaxy Z Fold 3, but with a slightly smaller case and this year’s Lighter. Like its predecessor, both screens have a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Samsung’s second major event of 2022 has come to an end with a number of major announcements including the foldable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Besides mobile phones, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro were also announced. Below, we’ll take a closer look at all these new gadgets that make up the best foldable phones, best smartwatches, and arguably the best phones: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Highlights

  • The top 1 TB model is priced at a whopping $2,159.99 / £2,019 / AU$2,999. Pre-orders for the new Fold will begin on August 10th (August 11th in Australia), with the Galaxy Fold 4 release date set for August 26th.

  • Major upgrades can be found in the camera, which includes a 50-megapixel primary snapper, a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle. There is also a 10 MP front camera on the outer display and a 4 MP under display camera on the inner display. The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset has also been upgraded, and the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes with a 4,400mAh battery and 25W charging, 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Pricing starts at $1,799.99 / £1,649 / AUD $2,499, with versions with 256 GB of storage available.

The design is similar to the Z Flip 3, but with a bigger battery, a faster chipset, an improved main camera and the promise of brighter images. If you want your hands on the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, pick it up on August 26th (September 2nd in Australia) and start pre-ordering on August 10th.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
If the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is a little pricier, you might want to consider the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, a clamshell folding device and successor to the Galaxy Z Flip 3. It includes a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED screen with 1080 x 2640 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, a 1.9-inch cover display with 260 x 512 resolution, Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, 8 GB RAM, 3,700mAh battery, 25W charging, and up to 512GB storage. It also has a 12-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 10-megapixel front camera.
