Data breach confirmed by Plex, user information and password taken

Users of Plex were informed through email of the problem and urged to change their passwords as soon as possible.

The company confirmed that the media streaming service Plex had been breached, adding that user passwords and private information had been taken.

Highlights

  • The stolen data was “hashed and secured in accordance with best standards,” the email said, adding that only a “limited subset” of accounts had been compromised.
