A leading organic seed breeding company, has announced the acquisition of Seed-X’s breakthrough GeNeeTM technology.
Committed to sustainable solutions for organic farmers, De Bolster harnesses the power of GeNeeTM technology to increase the usable plant rate of tomato, pepper and cucumber seeds.
GeNeeTM technology is the world’s first seed scanning his solution that uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to replace the mechanical screening process. Sets a new standard in seed quality by disrupting traditional seed treatments.
Nondestructive seed-by-seed classification based on image analysis predicts germination and other unknown quality attributes. Help reduce seed waste and increase usable seed rate.
On average 10% to 15% of seed lots do not achieve the desired quality with traditional isolation methods. With GeNeeTM Sorter, this number can be lowered to just 5%.
This allows seed suppliers to recover the market value of otherwise unsellable batches.
De Bolster purchased his GeNee™ technology embedded in sorters manufactured by Germany-based Petkus Technologie GmbH in partnership with Seed-X. De Bolster will use the Petkus OS-P machine to map the size, color and other characteristics of sprouted seeds so they can improve the performance of their current seed treatment lines and increase their production capacity.
It provides its customers with organic, high-germinated, vigorous seeds produced in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.
Sarel Ashkenazi, CEO and founder of Seed-X Technologies, said: De Bolster already supplies growers with quality seeds of the best varieties. By purchasing our GeNeeTM technology, you will be able to improve seed batches, streamline production and implement more efficient seed production plans. It also saves storage and operational costs. ”
Frank Vosselman, owner of his family-run De Bolster, said: Especially for our high-tech “organic greenhouse” customers, we know that quality matters, and with Seed-x you can take your usable plants to the next level. “
