  • The developer of the popular Steam gaming platform and several of the titles that can be found there, Valve, is reportedly working on a brand-new project called “Neon Prime.” Given that it is now simply a trademark, we are unsure of what that something is, but the way it is categorized suggests that it is at the very least a piece of software that may be regarded as a game. Naturally, Valve has not yet provided any information regarding their plans for Neon Prime.

Gabe Follower, a Twitter user who naturally keeps up with Valve and Valve CEO Gabe Newell, saw the trademark for Neon Prime. The registration of this trademark is “intended to cover the categories of computer game software, electronic game software, video game software, and computer game programs downloadable via the internet,” according to all the information provided within the trademark, which also lists similar broad, ambiguous descriptors typically associated with these. So, even if we do not know what this object is, it is clear that we are in video game land.

Although Valve is most known for its sizable Steam platform, which houses virtually any PC game you can imagine, they are also the minds behind seminal titles like Dota 2, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and the Half-Life games. The business most recently published Aperture Desk Job. This is a portal offshoot made to demonstrate how the Steam Deck works. Before then, the Half-Life series was continued, but exclusively with VR headsets in Half-Life: Alyx. In the past four years, he has also produced two of his Dota spin-offs, including the out-of-order card game Artifact and the automatic chess project Dota Underlords.
