Mobile phones and tablets have smaller screens than TVs, leaving less space for graphics and controls, so you may need a game controller. However, third-party controllers are nothing new to Apple. Currently, both PlayStation’s DualSense and Xbox’s wireless controllers can be paired with an iPhone or iPad. And other controllers like Backbone One and Razer Kishi are made specifically for mobile gaming. But if you already own a Nintendo Switch, there’s no need to buy a third-party game controller.

Joy-Cons aren’t just useful for gaming on Switch. Thanks to iOS 16, you can now pair your Nintendo controller to play on your iPhone (and iPad when he releases iPadOS 16 later this year). You can download iOS 16 now. Here are three things you should do first after installing new Apple software. In recent years, game makers have introduced more complex gameplay into mobile experiences. Services like Xbox Cloud Gaming and GeForce Now let you play games like Call of Duty, Fortnite, and Apex Legends that are hard to handle on mobile devices.

Highlights

  • First, make sure your Joy-Cons are charged and ready to use. If not, simply plug it into your Nintendo Switch while charging on the dock. Once your Joy-Cons are charged and ready to use, slide them off the console to:

  • Place two on each side of the console. Best of all, it only takes seconds to pair the Joy-Con with your iPhone or iPad. For more information, read his 5 hidden features of the new operating system for iPhone. Here’s how to pair your Joy-Cons with your iPhone or iPad

2. Now go to Settings > Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad.

1. First, press and hold the black pairing button on the top of the Joy-Con until the green light starts flashing back and forth. This means the Joy-Con is now in pairing mode.

3. Scroll down to find your Joy-Con under Other Devices. You will see Joy-Con (L) or Joy-Con (R) depending on which Joy-Con is currently paired.

4. Finally, tap the Joy-Con option to pair. Repeat this process for other Joy-Cons as needed.

Once your Joy-Cons are paired, you can navigate to games that support third-party controllers such as Minecraft, Among Us, Call of Duty and more to play with your newly paired Joy-Cons. Not all mobile games support both Joy-Con controllers at the same time, so you only need to pair one. To unpair your Joy-Cons, go to Settings > Bluetooth, tap the blue information icon, and tap Unpair.
