Chicago-based Puttshack will open a high-tech bar and miniature golf course in Reston Station, part of Comstock Holding Companies’ Phase 2 in the 80-acre Northern Virginia development.
Puttshack, which describes itself as an upscale and tech-inspired experience with global food and beverage, has signed a lease for 1850 Reston Row Plaza. The 29,000-square-foot lease is part of the second phase of the Reston Station development.
The Puttshack won’t open until the summer of 2025, but it will be more than 29,000 square feet and feature multiple bars, dining options and four technology-driven miniature golf courses. Balls will record players’ scores.
The newest Puttshack store will be located at 1850 Reston Row Plaza, accessible via the Silver Line’s Wiehle-Reston East Metro station, according to a press release. The company will be the primary tenant of the newly constructed building.
Puttshack describes its miniature golf courses as “highly competitive.”
Puttshack currently has additional locations in Chicago and Atlanta. This fall, additional stores will open in Miami and Boston. A second Atlanta store is planned for next year, as are stores in Dallas, Denver, Houston, Nashville, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Scottsdale and St. Louis. There are currently four locations in London.
Puttshack recently received $150 million from funds managed by BlackRock to fund its expansion.
Reston Station is one of the largest mixed-use, transit-oriented developments in the Mid-Atlantic states. A 250-room JW Marriott hotel and 100 JW brand condominiums are currently under construction. Corporate tenants at Reston Station include Google, Spotify, Rolls-Royce North America and Neustar. Restaurants include Founding Farmers, Matchbox and Davios Northern Italian Steakhouse.
