The semi-popular phone game from the makers of Automata and Drakengard (especially Yoko Taro) has players completing Verse 10, the game’s final story content, forced out of the game and unable to log back in.
Some context: The NieR series famously includes a “final” story requirement for clearing data. For example, NieR: Replicant and Automata require players to delete entire save files and all other save files just to experience the “true ending”. There are story reasons for this, so no spoilers, but not to mention very emotional and heartbreaking.

With SINoALICE’s Taiwan server shutting down next month, the final chapter was released today for players in Taiwan. Yoko Taro, the director of these games, decided to send them in any way she could.
