Hewlett Packard Enterprise Discloses Russian State Actor Hack

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has revealed that it was the target of a cyberattack by a Russian state actor. The attack, which occurred earlier this year, resulted in unauthorized access to some of HPE’s systems.

In a statement released on Tuesday, HPE stated that the attack was discovered and contained quickly, and there is no evidence to suggest that customer data was compromised. The company has also reported the incident to law enforcement and is working with external security experts to investigate the breach.

HPE’s disclosure comes at a time of heightened concerns about cybersecurity threats from state-sponsored actors. Just recently, the U.S. government has accused Russia of being behind a series of cyberattacks on American infrastructure and businesses.

The company emphasized that it takes the security of its systems and customer data very seriously and is committed to protecting against threats from sophisticated adversaries. HPE also stated that it is continuously enhancing its security measures to safeguard its infrastructure and customer information.

The disclosure serves as a reminder of the ongoing and evolving cyber threats that organizations face, and the need for constant vigilance and investment in cybersecurity measures. HPE’s transparency in revealing the breach also underscores the importance of open communication and cooperation in the fight against cybercrime.
