Suspect of the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old by San Jose has been arrested

Oviorz was accused of fatally stabbing a 16-year-old boy in the Quimy Road and Caraston Way neighborhood around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. He said a man was also stabbed and survived. Residents said they stayed up late playing video games before police arrived on the scene. Even though he had headphones on, he heard a loud commotion outside.

San Jose police said on Monday they had been arrested in connection with the stabbing to death of a 16-year-old boy near the Eastridge Mall over the weekend. The San Jose Police Department said his 18-year-old Michael Obialls in San Jose was arrested at his Way home in Remington around 10:45 a.m Saturday.

  • “The next thing I knew, I heard screams across the street, so I took off my headphones and looked out the window and I heard screams,” Troy Buenaventura said. Many locals told KTVU that they also heard screams, but had no idea who they were or what they were about.
    Authorities have yet to release information about the motive behind the shooting.
