  • Your dog might soon be prepared to join in on your play sessions after a business creates a video game that challenges the canine brain.

Humans can benefit from the positive brain stimulation and stress reduction that video games can offer, but little is known about how video games affect animals, particularly dogs.

Dogs playing video games may seem like something from a science fiction film, but it’s actually a lot more common than you may imagine.

It’s unlikely that your dog will ever play Modern Warfare 2, but you might want to think about getting him to participate in a Whack-a-Mole-style interactive game that tells you about your dog’s mental health.

This data is especially useful if you’re worried about leaving your dog alone at home, such as when you go to work, but it can also give you an update on your pet’s emotional state.

British startup Joipaw is creating a range of video games for its four-legged friends with the aim of supporting further research into canine dementia. So far, the company has developed an Apple Health-style tracker that can measure your dog’s health. This includes the number of steps your dog has taken and the amount of time spent resting, playing and walking.

A tracker attached to a dog’s collar can also detect early signs of cognitive problems when worn while playing a variety of games on a dedicated console.

So far, the company has only announced a Whack-a-Mole-style game, but the console offers more than that, giving you a better assessment of your dog’s health.

Health issues the data points to may include joint problems and signs of dementia in dogs. If you’re notified that your dog has a health problem, you can also submit a report to your veterinarian for better diagnosis and treatment, says Joipaw. the idea for the product came after one of Joipaw’s co-founders, Dersim Avdar, and his wife adopted a rescue dog in Hong Kong and were looking for a way to keep him busy while he was away. was born.

The couple, who grew up being gamers, joked that they should buy their dog a video game to keep them busy all day, but they couldn’t find anything like it on the market. Joipaw has since started testing on multiple dogs and getting feedback on the current version of the product.

Once testing is complete and the console is released, we may add features such as: B. That your dog can compete with a neighbor’s dog.
