  • Following last week’s hardware announcements, several new products were released this week, as well as operating system updates bringing new features and bug fixes to Apple’s platforms.

This week also saw some new rumours about the iPhone 15 lineup and Apple’s upcoming AR/VR headset, as well as some tips to help you get the most out of your macOS experience, so keep reading for more information on these and other stories!

Following six weeks of beta testing, iOS 16.3 was released to the public this week. Although the software update is minor, there are a few new features and changes for the iPhone, so make sure to check out our list of everything new in iOS 16.3.

This week, Apple also released iPadOS 16.3, macOS 13.2, watchOS 9.3, tvOS 16.3, and HomePod software version 16.3, all of which include new features for the iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, and HomePod.

The bezels are said to be thinner than those on the Apple Watch Series 7 and Series 8. On the iPhone 15 Pro, both the display glass and the rumoured titanium frame are expected to be flat.

According to the leaker ShrimpApplePro, Apple’s next-generation iPhone 15 Pro models will have ultra-thin curved bezels around the display.

Multiple reports this week indicated that the iPhone 15 models will support faster Wi-Fi 6E, but only the Pro models.

While the new Mac mini with the M2 chip starts at $599, the base model with 256GB of storage has slower SSD read and write speeds than the equivalent previous-generation model. The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with 512GB storage are the same.

The problem stems from the fact that some new Mac configurations have fewer NAND storage chips than previous models. When it comes to working on your Mac, there are so many time-saving tricks hidden away in macOS that you’re probably missing at least one or two. Here are ten quick tips, any of which could be critical to boosting your productivity.

The list assumes you’re using a Mac running the most recent macOS Ventura software, but the majority of these tips will also work in older versions of the operating system. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman published a detailed article this week explaining how Apple’s long-rumored AR/VR headset will work.

Apple’s headset will have advanced hand and eye tracking, an iOS-like software interface with a grid of apps, a Digital Crown-like control knob, and other features, according to Gurman. He also stated that the headset will be capable of acting as an external display for a Mac. According to a separate report from The Information’s Wayne Ma, users will be able to create AR apps for the device using Siri alone, with no coding knowledge required.

Notably, the value of iPhone trade-ins has dropped by up to $80. To find out how much your device is worth today, compare Apple’s new and old trade-in values. Following the release of new Mac and HomePod models last week, Apple revised the trade-in values for a number of devices, including the iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and Android smartphones. This time, the iPad trade-in values were not altered.
