Quora first released Poe as a closed beta for him last December, then rolled it out to all his iOS users last month. Quora CEO Adam D’Angelo said in a Twitter thread that paying users can chat with bots powered by GPT-4 and Claude+ (version 1.2). Unfortunately, in the paid tier, you can’t ask unlimited questions about these models: Poe limits his usage to 300 GPT 4 messages per month and 1,000 Claude 1.2 messages per month. increase. “Bot availability or quality may decrease” when users hit their monthly limit, the service says.

Poe’s subscription costs $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year and is currently only available through his Mac with iOS or Apple Silicon. The company is working to make its paid plans available for purchase online.

At this time, free users can also test these models for free and ask one question per day. According to D’Angelo, users can interact with other bots like ChatGPT, Claude, Sage and Dragonfly indefinitely. Poe describes these models with different roles and characteristics.

In particular, models like Sage and Claude are unaware of events beyond 2021, and Dragonfly may refuse to answer some questions. You don’t have to take the answer at face value, as the app will warn you that you may be saying These are some safeguards against manipulating bots into saying problematic or wrong things.

Quora and Poe are not currently directly connected. But the company said last month that if the content created by Poe meets certain criteria, it can share her answers on its Q&A platform, which has more than 400 million monthly users.

Along with Poe, Duolingo also announced her GPT-4-based subscription to help AI-based tutors learn languages. Microsoft also broke its vow of silence and confirmed that Bing was using her GPT-4 all along. Also, his daily message limit on Bing Chat has been increased to 150 for him. Khan Academy is testing an AI assistant designed to help teachers with administrative tasks as Teaching Her Assistant. On the other hand, students can use it to get help with math or suggest story ideas.

OpenAI and Anthropic have just announced new bots, so more consumer applications will adopt this technology.
