There’s a lot of work to be done to reach 100% completion, but Square said Enix wanted to help busy gamers reach the end of the game in a reasonable amount of time. “When I first started developing the game, I thought that players were busy with other things these days, so I wanted them to at least finish the story,” said Yoshida. “I thought it made sense to be able to beat the game in about 20 hours, but I just kept cramming it in.”
The base game can be completed in about 35 hours, but you can easily spend double that to do everything else Final Fantasy XVI has to offer. and the game will probably take about 35 hours to complete,” Takai said. “Add side content and double that.”
But thanks to the New Game Plus mode, there’s much more in store. “Not only that, but it also includes a very difficult New Game Plus mode called ‘Final Fantasy Mode’ where you can carry over all your stats,” explained Yoshida. “It will probably add even more playing time.”
Final Fantasy XVI has been in development for a while, but on June 22nd, 2023, he’s finally coming to PS5.
