Even though we haven’t seen it yet, Horizon Forbidden West Expansion is on track

In a new PS Blog interview, game director Mathijs de Jonge praised the PS5, and we learned about how the PS5’s SSD/hardware makes games stand out visually and technically.

Despite the fact that we don’t know much about it, Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores will be released on April 19th. As previously stated, the expansion will only be available on the PS5 because Guerrilla Games did not want to compromise on quality.

So there’s not much to say about Burning Shores itself. But it’s good to know it’s still on the way.

“The Horizon Forbidden West base game runs at a higher resolution and framerate on PS5 than on PS4, and assets are more detailed, making the overall quality much better,” de Jonge explained.

That’s bound to irritate PS4 owners, who have previously chastised Guerrilla Games for releasing the base game but not the expansion on the previous generation. It’s time to upgrade!
