On November 29, Elon Musk will revive Twitter’s Blue Check membership service.
Musk tweeted, “Blue Verified ensures we are back and rock solid by November 29th.”
“In the new version, changing a verified name will lose ticks until the name has been validated by his Twitter to comply with the terms of service.”
Twitter’s $8 monthly Blue membership service was halted on Friday after it was found that users were using false names and images of famous people and brands.
Companies like Nintendo, pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, and Musk-owned Tesla have seen users with blue verification checkmarks pretending to be companies until their accounts were suspended.
Users could pay confirmation ticks on their accounts using this coveted service.
Musk said last week that the blue ticks “will be back later next week.”
Verified Accounts The option to pay Icon for $8 a month came after Musk acquired his media company Social in his $44 billion deal.
