J. Bryn Gibson, the chairman and CEO of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, resigned.
In order to seek new career opportunities, Gibson, who was appointed in November 2020, is resigning. Director Brittnie Watkins, who was added to the board by Sisolak in April 2021, will take over as chairman and CEO.
“I am appreciative of Bryn’s stable management of the Gaming Board and his ongoing friendship and counsel over the past two years. We wish him and his family the best of luck in Bryn’s upcoming chapters. We appreciate Britney Watkins’ decision to carry on with her incredibly significant work on the Gaming Board.
“As Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, I am honored to serve the state of Nevada at this important time. I know there’s a lot to look forward to,” Gibson said. “I would like to thank Governor Sisolak for giving me this opportunity and for his guidance and support over the years.”
While Gibson served as General Counsel to Governor Sisolak, he served as Chief General Counsel on ethics, trade and legislative matters, and protecting government interests in the gaming and cannabis industries.
Gibson served as Governor Sisolak’s general counsel from January 2019 until January 2020, and most recently assisted the governor’s office during his two special legislative sessions this summer.
Gibson served as Chief Counsel to the Executive Board, the Cabinet, and Governor Sisolak in this position. He served as the First Assistant Attorney General and Head of the Gaming Division in the Nevada Attorney General’s Office before to joining the Governor’s Office.
When the Commission and the Commission took action against Nevada Gaming and his licensees, he served as Chief Counsel to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, the Nevada Gaming Commission, and the Nevada Gaming Policy Board in his capacity as head of the Gaming Division.
We have taken care of all legal matters. Problems and noncompliance with regulations. Former Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval also appointed Gibson to a two-year term as Commissioner of the Nevada Colorado River Commission.
