  • The Sydney-based Wargaming Studios has been acquired by Riot Games, which has renamed it Riot Sydney. The expertise of Wargaming in creating development tools for AAA games, next-generation games, and R&D initiatives is what sets it apart. Additionally, we are developing prototypes for console ports and add-ons as well as brand-new game features.

Marc Merrill, a co-founder of Riot and president of the Games division, commented on the acquisition, saying: “The team not only trusts the technology they have produced over the years, they trust the people who built it. ”

Merrill added that his head of development at Riot Sydney, Naresh Hirani, and the studio’s development team have a “long history” of working in ways that complement Riot’s way of working as a studio, as well as “value for players.” It has the ability to provide “We are really looking forward to working with them,” the company said.

Wargaming (now Riot Sydney) is one of Australia’s largest development studios and has worked on titles for consoles such as World of Tanks, World of Warships and his PC. Wargaming will retain ownership of its product Bigworld Technology (who joined the studio in 2012) and move its development staff to Riot Sydney. The existing publishing team will continue to be part of Wargaming.

Of the acquisition, Hirani said, “Being part of Wargaming has been an incredible journey for us over the past decade. It has helped our studio grow and thrive. It’s about helping us deliver great experiences to our players.”
