Yogesh Brar has provided a wealth of information about the Redmi A1, a brand-new product line from Xiaomi. The MediaTek Helio A22, which we have already tested in low-cost smartphones like the Nokia 2.3 and the Huawei Y5 2019, is rumoured to be included in the Redmi A1, which is expected to launch tomorrow alongside the Redmi 11. As expected, Xiaomi would only add 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash storage to the Redmi A1, confirming that the phone is strictly a low-cost model.

Separately, @Unlockandfree has shared what they claim is a hands-on photo with the Redmi A1, underlining the device’s specifications. An apparent marketing image has surfaced too, in which the back of the Redmi A1 is shown in three colours. Presumably a plastic back, it is unusual for an entry-level smartphone to mimic Xiaomi’s older flagship camera layout, such as the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Pro. Pricing has not leaked yet, although Brar believes that the Redmi A1 will cost less than INR 10,000 (~US$125).
